New Chromacolour acrylic painting featuring a Snow Leopard added to my Wildlife Paintings page.
Of all the species that I paint, I probably have to admit that this particular mammal is my favourite.
The colours lend themselves, not only to colour painting, but also work well in monochrome, when I use graphite pencils.
My choice here was to resist the temptation to produce a close-up of this beautiful cat, and to place it as a small element of a much bigger environment.
I have purposely tried to mirror the patterns of the cat with the lichen patterns on the rocks, to link it to its surroundings.
