Here is a small selection of my canine paintings and drawings, each capturing the essence and personality of our beloved pets. Canine art is not just a visual depiction; it’s a celebration of the bond between humans and dogs, evoking emotions and memories.
My colour paintings, vividly created in acrylics on gessoed wood panels, bring out the character and personality of each dog.
The finished pieces are carefully varnished and framed without the need for glass, allowing the textures and colors to shine through. Each brushstroke is intentional, aimed at portraying not only the physical appearance but also the character of the canines portrayed.
In contrast, my graphite pencil drawings are completed on ‘Hot Pressed’ (ultra smooth) watercolor paper. This medium allows for detailed renderings, capturing subtle nuances in fur texture and expression. Once finished, they are sprayed with a fixative to preserve the delicate artwork. The fragile nature of the paper means that the finished work needs to be framed under glass, ensuring its longevity while protecting the intricate details.

I am also enthusiastic about undertaking commissions. This process begins with understanding your vision and the unique traits of your dog. Whether it’s a playful puppy or a dignified elder, we can tailor the artwork to reflect their personality. Initially, we can discuss your requirements by phone or email. Don’t hesitate to drop me a line or give me a call, and let’s create a memorable piece together.
Canine paintings serve as more than just decorative pieces; they encapsulate stories, emotions, and the beautiful bond we share with our pets. Each painting tells a unique story, inviting viewers to reflect on their experiences with dogs. Whether you are an art collector, a dog lover, or both, the world of canine art offers endless opportunities to celebrate the joy that our dogs bring into our lives.
